What is Mediation?
Mediation is a voluntary and confidential conference, where all the participants have agreed to attend and to cooperate in good faith to resolve the dispute between them.
The parties agree to appoint a facilitator who uses his or her skills to bring the parties to agreement.
The agreement may be for the whole of the dispute or just such parts upon which the parties can settle.
All negotiations during mediation are non-binding and confidential.
Experience has shown that mediation is more effective because it is confidential.
If each party is prepared to negotiate in good faith and work towards a mutually satisfying result, mediation can be efficient and cost effective.
